“To Know Michael Hercules Wilfong was to know a truly good Human. Whether you’ve known him for years or just a few days, Michael’s kind spirit was always present. Even though sometimes he could seem to be a little indifferent, you knew he was paying attention to you. I remember Michael mentoring my nephew, Steven Nwogbe. Steven was excited every day to learn as much as he could from Michael and still today, in his own firm, he credits a lot of his success to that mentorship. A mentor, and a trusted friend who you could depend on, without fail.

I will always remember Michael as an honest, candid, and trustworthy individual who was selflessly disciplined and dedicated to his craft and would help anybody. He brought a unique gentleness, along with patience, kindness and compassion into the lives of everyone around him.

I’m grateful for the times Michael shared with me and my family. “

“You will meet no one else like him. Brilliant, brave, hilarious; a steadfast friend, a loving father. He was a rare and special person. He approached everyone with a heart open to the idea that a stranger is just a friend he’s never met. A great conversationalist because he could talk and listen. He was so smart and curious about the world and had something insightful to contribute on any topic, in any setting.”

“His middle name was no lie. He could back down a man twice his size to avoid a bar fight. He hit the books hard, at this point in the plot. He free style rapped every chance he got. Judo became a part of his life in college. Eventually a black belt, he was a patient teacher to children and adults, a model of the gentle way. A warrior at heart and in life.”
